How to Obtain a Water/Sewer Tap

  1. See rates for District Water & Sewer impact fees.
  2. Water Impact Fees consist of two separate charges:
    1. the System Development Charge by Denver Water and paid direct to Denver Water, and
    2. the Water Impact Fee charged by the District. This schedule of Impact Fees may be changed by the District at any time, without notice.
  3. Sewer Impact Fees shall be the sum of
    1. the Sewer Impact Fee charged by the City of Littleton for taps outside its city limits, plus
    2. the Sewer Impact Fee charged by the District. This schedule of Sewer Impact Fees may be changed by the District at any time, without notice.
  4. Bring a check for the District Impact Fees and meter (call the District for meter rates), along with a copy of the building permit for the property, to the District office at 10698 W. Centennial Road.
  5. Once the check and building permit are dropped off at the District a representative will prepare the Denver Water paperwork, which may be picked up the following day. This paper work along with a check for Denver Water impact fees will need to be delivered to Denver Water at 1600 W. 12th Ave. Call Denver Water for their water impact fees at 303-628-6000.
  6. A copy of Denver Water Boards paid receipt must be returned to the District prior to receiving a water meter.
  7. Inspections must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
  8. All commercial buildings must have the required backflow prevention device installed and certification received by the District within two weeks after installation of the water meter.

How to Obtain Hydrant Permits

  1. See District rates for construction water fees.
  2. Bring a deposit check for $1,500 to the District office. This deposit will be returned when hydrant meter has been returned to the District, tested, and the bill is paid.
  3. Fill out and sign permit, a hydrant meter will then be released to the builder.
