At its regular Board meeting to be held on December 16, 2026, the Board of Directors of the Ken-Caryl Ranch Water & Sanitation District will be considering an increase in the District’s fees, rates, System Development charges, penalties and charges for water and sanitary sewer services. The meeting will be held at the District offices located at 10698 W. Centennial Road, Littleton, Colorado 80127, starting at 8:00 am and is open to the public.

2027 Rates will be discussed at the following meetings:

• November 18, 2026
• December 16, 2026

Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District purchases its water from Denver Water. Denver Water’s storage reservoirs rely heavily on mountain snowpack, which are all currently well below normal levels. Due to ongoing drought conditions and the need for additional water conservation measures, Denver Water has made it mandatory that the lawn watering season must end on October 1, 2026.  We appreciate your cooperation and continued efforts to conserve water during these dry conditions.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT A QUORUM OF THE BOARD WILL BE PRESENT AT THE SDA CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 14-17, 2026 AT THE KEYSTONE CONFERENCE CENTER 633 TENNIS CLUB ROAD IN KEYSTONE, COLORADO (LOCATED IN SUMMIT COUNTY, COLORADO) AND PUBLIC BUSINESS MAY BE INCIDENTALLY DISCUSSED BY THE BOARD FROM TIME TO TIME ALTHOUGH THAT IS NOT THE CENTRAL PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE.

On Wednesday May 20, 2026 at the monthly Board Meeting the Ken Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District the Board of Directors Approved and Adopted New System Development Charges following a tap fee study.  Please refer to the table below to see the New System Development Charges.  The New System Development Charges will go into effect on August 1, 2026.

At the Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District’s April 22^nd Board of Directors Meeting, the Board of Directors voted to not pass through a surcharge onto our customers for the Stage 1 Drought restrictions at this time. Please continue to follow your 2 designated days for watering and the other watering restrictions that are in effect until further notice.

Q: What if I am planting new grass seed or sod?
A: A 21-day exemption may be granted for new seed or sod in an area of 250 square feet or larger. Please contact the District office to apply for an exemption. If granted an exemption, customers are responsible for increased costs associated with higher water use. Once the 21-days expire, we will expect the 2-day a week watering rules to be followed.

Q: Will there be an extra surcharge or fee on my bill during the Stage 1 drought?
A: The Board of Directors will be discussing and approving any surcharge related to the Stage 1 drought at our regular Board of Directors meeting April 22^nd at 8:00am.

On March 25, 2026 the Denver Water Board has adopted a resolution declaring a Stage 1 drought. The drought declaration seeks to reduce water use by 20% to preserve reservoir storage in the case the drought persists into 2027. In light of the restrictions taking immediate effect, we recommend that customers postpone activating automatic systems until mid-to late May. This is will help save water as well. Please keep in mind that conditions and restrictions are subject to change depending on conditions.

Stage 1 drought response includes the following restrictions on water use:

Outdoor watering is restricted to no more than two days a week based on the following schedule:

Single Family Homes

• Addresses ending in even numbers: Sunday and Thursday.

• Addresses ending in odd numbers: Wednesday and Saturday.

All other customers, including multifamily properties, commercial properties, homeowners’ associations and government properties, may water only on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Customers must also follow the annual summer watering rules:

• Water only during cooler times of the day, between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.

• Do not allow water to pool in gutters, streets and alleys.

• Do not waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.

• Repair leaking sprinkler systems in 10 days.

• Do not irrigate while it is raining or during high winds.

• Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car

Trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and vegetables may be watered any day by means of hand-held hose or low volume spray irrigation, but not between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Denver Water supplies water to the Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District (the District) for delivery to the District’s customers. On Wednesday, March 25 Denver Water adopted a resolution declaring a Stage 1 drought and putting in place watering restrictions. Further Denver Water may be putting in place surcharges for the District’s to which it supplies water. The District may pass through those surcharges. The District’s Board of Director’s will be discussing and approving any surcharge that could be passed on to you as the customer at the April 22, 2026 Board meeting.
